The Division of Talent and Culture is committed to promoting a positive workplace for the approximately 8,000 employees who call WVU home.
And as part of these efforts, we are creating a new developmental tool – called Upward Feedback – to capture feedback on supervisors’ leadership behaviors across our University based on responses from their direct reports.
Through recent WVU Culture Surveys and Campus Conversations with faculty and staff, we recognize many leaders may not have an accurate perception of their managerial effectiveness. Upward Feedback seeks to promote supervisors’ personal and professional development by identifying their aggregate strengths and opportunities for improvement across our organization. This information will be used to develop targeted training and development programs to increase leadership capabilities among supervisors.
We plan to launch the Upward Feedback process campuswide in early 2019. In preparation for this rollout, we are designing the questionnaire to capture employee feedback.
Our goal is for the questionnaire to reflect the diverse views of the entire WVU family. That’s why we are seeking input from a cross-section of employees across various schools and divisions.
